Group Coaching 2026 Q4: The Year in Review

$300.00

Leave behind the patterns that held you back

Four live sessions | Thursdays, Nov 5 – Dec 17 | Online

Most of the reflection we do at the end of a year is about results. What did I get done? What fell short? What do I want to accomplish next year? If you work in an organization, you might also receive a year-end review from your manager, which usually covers the same ground. If you run your own business, you may not get any outside feedback at all.

All of that is useful. But many of the leaders I work with also know there's something in how they show up that keeps getting in their way. Maybe they get short with people when they're stressed, take over work they should be handing off, or go quiet in meetings when they actually disagree.

So the question I'm more interested in is this one: what keeps happening, and why?

That's what this series is about. It's where we get curious about the things that show up for us over and over in our work lives, and maybe in our personal lives too. Over four sessions, you'll look honestly at your year, get real feedback from people you work with, and work with the pattern you'd most like to leave behind.

Why patterns are hard to change

Usually what we try to fix is what shows up on the surface. We get feedback that our team needs to be more engaged, that we need to delegate more, or that our results need to improve, so we work on that. We write a SMART goal into our development plan, read a leadership book, take a workshop, or try a few techniques a colleague swears by. It usually works for a while, and then a hard week comes along, and we're right back where we started.

In my experience, that's because what we're working on is often the last step in a longer chain. Underneath it, there's usually a belief, a feeling, or an old way of keeping ourselves safe that we haven't looked at yet, and it tends to shift once we understand it.

So, rather than asking "How do I stop doing this?" we'll ask questions like:

  • What is this pattern trying to do for me?

  • Where do I notice it first, in my thoughts, my feelings, or my body?

  • What has it cost me, and the people I work with?

  • What small experiment could I try, and what would I learn from it?

How it works

We meet online twice a month for 75 minutes. Each session includes some brief instruction, group discussion, and live coaching with a few group members.

Before we start, you'll get a short guided reflection to help you look back on your year. Between sessions, you'll have a brief practice or experiment to try, along with prompts to notice what’s happening. We'll approach your pattern the way a researcher would: observe it, form a hypothesis, try a small experiment, and notice what changes. Plan on about 20–30 minutes a week between sessions.

The four sessions

November 5: Naming your pattern. We'll look back at the year and identify the reaction or habit you'd rather not carry into the next one. We'll talk about how patterns form and how to catch them as they're happening, including the signals your body gives you before your mind catches up.

November 19: Understanding what drives it. Before this session, you'll ask a couple of people you trust one question about how you show up. Not to grade yourself, but because some of what we most need to see about ourselves, others can see first. We'll work with what you hear, and how it lands for you, to trace the pattern back to the beliefs and feelings underneath it.

December 3: Trying something different. Using what you've learned about why your pattern shows up, you'll design a small experiment to try shifting out of your typical response. We'll practice pausing when you feel the familiar pull, then notice what happens, around you and inside you, when you don't do the usual thing.

December 17: Choosing who you want to be. We'll look at what you noticed during your experiment, including what was hard, and talk about what lasting change actually looks like. You'll leave with a clear picture of how you want to show up next year and a simple daily habit to catch your pattern before it takes over.

You'll leave with

  • A clear understanding of your pattern and what drives it

  • Honest feedback from people you work with, and a way to hear it without getting defensive

  • One new response you've actually tried, not just planned

  • A clear picture of how you want to show up in 2027, and a daily habit to help you get there

Who this is for

This is for leaders at any level, whether you manage a team, run an organization, or own a business. It's a good fit if:

  • Something in how you lead keeps getting in your way, and you want to understand it, not just manage it

  • You'd like more honest feedback than you're getting

  • You're curious about yourself and willing to look at what's underneath your behavior

You don't need any experience with coaching or inner work. Curiosity and a willingness to look honestly at yourself matter more.
